Dr. Khalid-Khan, a child and adolescent psychiatrist, completed her psychiatric training at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She worked as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Medical Director of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Section at University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) before joining the faculty at Queen’s University in 2008.
She was the Deputy Head Academic in the Department of Psychiatry from 2013-2015 and the Program Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from 2014-2016.
Currently Dr. Sarosh Khalid-Khan is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Chair of the Dvision of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University and on staff at the Hotel Dieu Hospital where she manages the Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Eating Disorders Clinics.
Her areas of interest are: prevention of childhood anxiety disorders in schools, intervention for adolescents with chronic self-harm and mood dysregulation; enhancing primary care capacity to treat childhood psychiatric disorders, assessment of psychotherapy in person and through technology and transcultural psychiatry.
She has worked with the Limestone District School Board in Kingston, to implement anxiety prevention programs in schools;
She has collaborated with community mental health agencies and primary care physicians to enhance capacity for treatment of childhood psychiatric disorders
she has developed a cultural competency program for psychiatry residents at Queen’s.
she has developed a treatment program for adoelescents with chronic self-harm.
